Which cookies Pulse Recruit sets, what each one does, and the ones we do not set.

In plain language

Pulse sets one kind of cookie: the authentication cookies that keep you signed in. That is genuinely the whole list.

There is no analytics, no advertising, no remarketing pixel and no third-party tracker on this site or in the product today. Nobody is following you from page to page.

Your light or dark theme preference is saved in localStorage, which is not a cookie. We list it here anyway because it is data stored on your device and pretending it is not would be the same kind of dishonesty as hiding a tracker.

Because the only cookies we set are strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for, there is no consent banner. If that ever changes, a banner appears before the cookie does, not after.

This summary is here to be read, not to replace the document below. Where the two differ, the document is what applies.

Why cookies get their own page

Cookies are regulated separately from general data protection, under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations in the United Kingdom and the ePrivacy rules in the European Union. They are also the thing people search for by name when they want a straight answer.

So this is a separate document rather than a paragraph buried in the privacy policy. Read it with the privacy policy, which covers everything else we do with data.

What a cookie is, briefly

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. It is what lets a site recognise you between one page and the next.

Cookies are either strictly necessary, meaning the service you asked for cannot work without them, or they are not. Strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent. Everything else does, which is why so many sites open with a banner.

The cookies Pulse sets

Every cookie below is set by us, is strictly necessary, and is used for nothing except keeping you signed in. There are no third-party cookies on this domain.

  • Authentication session cookies, set by Supabase Auth, our authentication provider. They hold your signed session token and the token used to refresh it. Without them, every page load would sign you out. They are first-party, restricted to this site, sent over HTTPS only, and marked so that page scripts cannot read them.
  • These cookies last for the life of your session and are refreshed while you keep using the product. Signing out clears them immediately.
  • That is the complete list. If you open your browser's cookie inspector on this site and see something that is not described here, we want to know: operations@recruitergtm.com.

Your theme preference, which is not a cookie

When you choose light or dark, the choice is saved in your browser's localStorage. localStorage is not a cookie: it stays on your device, it is never attached to a request, and it never reaches our servers.

We could leave it out of a document titled cookie policy and be technically correct. Listing it is more useful and more honest, because what a reader actually wants to know is what is stored on their machine, not which storage API was used.

Clearing site data in your browser removes it, and the interface goes back to following your system setting.

What we do not use

Stated plainly, because a policy that only lists what is present makes a reader guess at what is absent.

  • No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics or any equivalent product-analytics tracker on this site today.
  • No advertising or remarketing cookies. No ad pixels, no conversion tags, no audience building.
  • No cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, no session-replay recording of your screen.
  • No social media embeds that set cookies on your behalf.
  • No third-party cookies of any kind. Every cookie described above is set by this site.

Why there is no consent banner

Consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. Every cookie we set is strictly necessary to deliver a service you explicitly asked for, which is being signed in, so a banner would be asking you to consent to something you do not have a choice about and cannot refuse without losing the product.

If we ever add analytics or anything else that needs consent, a proper consent control appears first, defaulted to off, and this page and its version history are updated in the same change. We will not add a tracker quietly and update the policy afterwards.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies in its settings, usually under privacy.

Blocking cookies on this site will sign you out and stop you signing back in, because the session cookie is the mechanism that keeps you signed in. There is no version of the product that works without it.

Because we run no trackers, there is nothing here for a tracker blocker or a do-not-track signal to switch off. We honour Global Privacy Control by having nothing to opt you out of.

Changes to this policy

This page changes whenever the cookies do. The date at the top and the version history at the bottom are how you check that claim rather than take it on trust.
